GDGIS SPORTS MUN-2020 Conference organised to promote sports in schools


SURAT, GUJARAT: G D Goenka International School, Surat, Gujarat has been appreciated by the India Book of Records (IBR) for organising Sports Mun-2020 Conference. There were six committees namely WHO, FIFA, IPL 1, IPL 2, IOC and IP. The event was divided into five committee sessions followed by socials and a Zumba session, as confirmed on January 12, 2021.

GDGIS SPORTS MUN-2020 conference was held on Dec 30-31, 2020. Sports was introduced for the first time in MUN. Over 100 delegates registered and 25 schools participated, including the schools from Singapore and Sharjah. Principals of various schools and sports personalities participated in the opening as well as closing ceremonies.

The aim of the conference was to enhance co-curricular activities and sports in schools all over the country during the pandemic for a healthy youth development. Encouraging lifelong involvement in sports and physical activities in order to provide healthier, safer, and prosperous communities was another objective.

A spokesperson of the school said, “Due to the lockdown, children were stuck behind the walls, hence our school encouraged the students to organise this event, which took almost 6 months. When we floated the event, we just invited the schools of the city and nearby towns. But as the days passed, due to the hard efforts of team and the uniqueness of the event, we got tremendous response from not only our country but also from Dubai, Singapore etc.

The students, parents and their families were overwhelmed and amazed to know that Model United Nation can also be followed in the field of sports and were equally happy for the appreciation from a national platform.

Dev Samaj School's NSS contingent bags prize

  Chandigarh:   The NSS unit of I. S. Dev Samaj S enio r Secondary School, Sector 21 -C, Chandigarh has bagged the third prize in the category of 'Best Contingent NSS Boys/ NSS Girls School Children' in the Republic Day Parade 2023, organised by Chandigarh Administration.  The Principal, Mrs. Sabeeha Dhillon Mangat congratulated the students for this achievement and their commendable performance. Art Exhibition showcasing paintings by children concludes

Chandigarh :  A two-days art exhibition ‘Meri Pehchaan’ organized by Chhaya School of Art (CSA) concluded at  Government   Art   Gallery , Sector 10 here today. More than 300 paintings made by 100 students from the different schools of Tricity, who received training at Chhaya School of Art had displayed their art. On this occasion, Ravneet Singh Khurana, an IRS officer, and special secretary to the government of  Punjab  graced the event as Chief Guest.
