'ECONATION' Initiative: St. John's High School students to manage operations of waste paper recycling machine

Chandigarh: Silver Fern Education Consultants, an overseas education consultancy has come up with an initiative ECONATION, in association with St. John’s High School, Chandigarh. Under this, a waste paper recycling machine has been installed inside the premises of St. John’s High School. 

 


"We have joined hands with the school to provide the students with a platform to create something new, which is useful and even profitable. The waste paper recycling machine installed in the school will be used to convert leftover sheets into fresh paper. This fresh paper can be used to manufacture products like notebooks, drawing books, exam sheets, magazine sheets, etc. This project will not only teach students how to manage a business and earn revenue but will also provide them with an opportunity to give back to the society as this is an ecofriendly project," said Shivam Garg,COO of Silver Fern.

This project  was planned and structured under the guidance of  Ms Kavita Das, Principal of St. John’s High School. It was inaugurated by Kshitij Bhatia, Regional Manager, University of Essex, United Kingdom. 

This initiative has been  designed as a Business Project solely for the students of class 11th and 12th of St. John's High School. Daily operations like product development, marketing, sales etc. will be handled by the students under the guidance of  teachers allotted for each process. The involvement of students in this project will provide them with an early insight into working in a professional environment and making the best out of it. BW

Dev Samaj School's NSS contingent bags prize

  Chandigarh:   The NSS unit of I. S. Dev Samaj S enio r Secondary School, Sector 21 -C, Chandigarh has bagged the third prize in the category of 'Best Contingent NSS Boys/ NSS Girls School Children' in the Republic Day Parade 2023, organised by Chandigarh Administration.  The Principal, Mrs. Sabeeha Dhillon Mangat congratulated the students for this achievement and their commendable performance. Art Exhibition showcasing paintings by children concludes

Chandigarh :  A two-days art exhibition ‘Meri Pehchaan’ organized by Chhaya School of Art (CSA) concluded at  Government   Art   Gallery , Sector 10 here today. More than 300 paintings made by 100 students from the different schools of Tricity, who received training at Chhaya School of Art had displayed their art. On this occasion, Ravneet Singh Khurana, an IRS officer, and special secretary to the government of  Punjab  graced the event as Chief Guest.
